Who Can Receive Veterans’ Home Care?

You may be eligible if you:

  • Hold a DVA Gold Card or DVA White Card
  • Are a veteran or war widow(er)
  • Need assistance with daily tasks to stay independent at home
  • Have had a Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) assessment

  • dressing and grooming
  • mobility and movement
  • toileting support

Help to manage daily tasks such as:

  • cleaning
  • laundry
  • vacuuming and mopping
  • kitchen tidy and general home upkeep

Safety-focused support, including:

  • minor repairs
  • garden tidy-ups
  • clearing walkways
  • basic yard tasks
  • safety checks

(This does not include major repairs or large trade work — we will guide you on what is included.)

Short-term support to give carers a break while ensuring the veteran remains safe and supported at home.

How to Get Started

Getting support through Veterans’ Home Care is a simple three-step process:

1. Call the Veterans’ Home Care Assessment Agency
Phone 1300 550 450 to request an assessment.

2. Complete a Home Care Assessment
A VHC assessor will talk with you to understand what help you need and what services you are approved for.

3. Choose Carexcell as Your Provider
Let them know you’d like Carexcell to provide your home care services. We will contact you to arrange your support and answer any questions.
